Though The Maverick couldn't put Kevin Owens away conventionally, a member of his entourage arrived to deliver brass knuckles. Owens got hold of the weapon and used it to knock out Paul, but unfortunately, the official caught Owens in the act, forcing a disqualification that allowed Paul to retain his title.
